Kutumsar cave is a subterranean one and it is 35 meters below ground level and 1371 meters long making it the longest cave in India and the second biggest in the world. It was discovered in 1900 by the local tribes. There are a lot of tribal lores connecting the caves. The cave is inhabited by bats, frogs, snakes, crickets and many other insects and reptiles. The caves are about 40 kms away from Jagdalpur. It is closed during the monsoons. There is a lack of oxygen within the cave and due to this visits to the cave can be made only to a certain extent.
